Dear Walker Families:

March was a busy month! Read Across America Week was fun, and twenty-four students earned recognition for perfect attendance in the second trimester, celebrating with a pizza lunch. Other events included St. Patrick’s Day activities, Lunch in the Courtyard, a third-grade field trip to the Logging Conference, and the school carnival at Ambrosini.

After such a busy time, we get a well-earned rest next week for spring break.  Then mark your calendars for EL Family Night on April 14th at 6:00 p.m., and the TK/Kindergarten Roundup on April 15th at 1:00 p.m.  Sports Dress-Up Day is on Friday, April 17th, and our Spring Concerts are on Friday, April 24th! Performance times will be listed on flyers and Parent Square.

It’s recognition and appreciation time! Secretary’s Day - April 22nd; School Bus Driver Appreciation - April 28th; School Lunch Hero Day - May 1st; Teacher Appreciation Week - May 4th-8th; and recognition for Classified Employees will take place alongside our teachers in May. We are grateful for our outstanding team at Walker and appreciate all they do!

Finally, we have another great volunteer and donation opportunity—Walker’s Cinco de Mayo Celebration on Friday, May 1st! We need potluck items, help with food prep, and empty piñatas to fill. Students will showcase the dances they’ve been learning, and there will be plenty of delicious food. Join us for this lovely event!
