Dear Walker Families,
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving break and are feeling refreshed and ready for the next three weeks. A huge thank you to everyone who participated in the turkey raffle! We surpassed last year’s total, raising an impressive $3,822. Fourteen turkeys were donated, and the funds will help cover field trip costs for each grade level. We are very grateful to all the families and friends who contributed to this success.
Thank you also for attending parent-teacher conferences before the break. These meetings are invaluable opportunities for teachers to share student progress and goals, and your involvement strengthens the partnership needed to help students succeed. Progress reports will be sent home at mid-trimester and trimester-end in March and June. In the meantime, we encourage you to stay connected with your child’s teacher via Class Dojo to continue fostering this team effort.
We are proud to support the Fortuna Volunteer Fire Department's Canned Food Drive. This year, to add some excitement, classes will compete for pizza, ice cream, and donut parties! Your donations of non-perishable food items are greatly appreciated—thank you for helping make a difference.
Congratulations to the 53 students with perfect attendance for the entire first trimester! These students will celebrate with "Pizza with the Principal" this Thursday. We truly appreciate your dedication to ensuring your child is well-rested and ready for school each day. Attendance plays a critical role in student success, and your efforts make a big difference.
The Walker Winter Wonderland Breakfast is happening this Saturday, December 7th, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. We kindly ask families of TK through 2nd grade to donate muffins, donuts, or bagels with cream cheese, and families of 3rd and 4th graders to contribute juice or chocolate milk. The event will feature fun crafts, winter photo opportunities, and pictures with Santa. We hope to see you there!
Mark your calendars for our Winter Concert on Thursday, December 12th, at the Fortuna River Lodge.
TK, Kindergarten, and 1st grade will perform at 6:00 p.m.
2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades will perform at 6:45 p.m.
Students will sit with their teachers at the front to be ready when it’s their turn to take the stage.
Thank you for your ongoing support, and we look forward to seeing you at upcoming events!
