Dear Walker Families,

I hope you all enjoyed a restful Thanksgiving break, and the students are returning feeling energized! 

Thank you to everyone who joined in this year’s Turkey Raffle—we raised an outstanding $3,229! With nine turkeys donated, the proceeds will help fund field trips across all grade levels. We’re grateful to the many families and friends who made this possible. 

We are also excited to celebrate the 44 students who earned Perfect Attendance for the first trimester. They enjoyed “Pizza with the Principal” before the break, and we want to thank families for making attendance a priority. Ensuring students arrive rested and ready each day has a powerful impact on their success, and we appreciate your commitment.

We also appreciate your participation in Parent-Teacher Conferences prior to the break. These conversations give teachers the chance to share student growth and upcoming goals, and your involvement is an essential part of our school-home partnership. Progress reports will go out at mid-trimester and again at the end of the trimester in March and June. In the meantime, please continue staying connected with your child’s teacher through ParentSquare to support this ongoing collaboration.

Looking ahead to this month, our school is once again partnering with the Fortuna Volunteer Fire Department for their annual Canned Food Drive. Classes will compete for a pizza party to encourage enthusiastic participation. Thank you in advance for donating canned and non-perishable items—your generosity helps support our community.

This Saturday, December 6th, we’ll be hosting the Walker Winter Wonderland Breakfast from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Families of TK–2nd graders are invited to bring muffins, donuts, or bagels with cream cheese, while families of 3rd–4th graders may send juice or chocolate milk. The morning will include crafts, winter photo spots, and pictures with Santa—we hope to see many of you there!

Please also save the date for our Winter Concert on Tuesday, December 16th, at the Fortuna River Lodge:

• TK, Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades will perform from 6:00–6:40 p.m.
  

• 3rd and 4th grades will perform from 7:00–7:30 p.m.
   (Students will gather with their teachers at the front to be ready for their performance.)
