Dear Walker Families:

March was a busy month! Dr. Seuss/Read Across America Week was a great success, and it was wonderful to see so many students engaged in reading activities. The Student Council hosted a St. Patrick’s Day coloring competition, and students also had the opportunity to show their academic growth. STAR assessments for the second trimester reporting period showed good progress—way to go, Walker Stars!

Looking ahead, our highly anticipated Carnival is this Friday, April 4th! A huge thank you to the PTO team and staff for their hard work in organizing this event, and to our families for their generous donations and volunteer efforts. It’s going to be an amazing night! Don’t forget to purchase presale tickets at the school office—2 tickets for $1, plus 1 free ticket for every $5 spent. Wristbands are available for $15 each ($10 for siblings). Prices will increase to $20 per wristband on the night of the event.

Mark your calendars for our Spring Concert on April 9th! Performance times are listed on flyers and Parent Square. Our next Spirit Dress-Up Day is Sports-themed on April 11th. After such a busy time, a well-earned rest awaits during Spring break from April 14th to 18th.  

As April transitions into May, we invite you to join us in celebrating our incredible staff: Librarian Day – April 11th, Secretary’s Day – April 23rd, School Lunch Hero Day – May 2nd, Teacher Appreciation Week – May 5th-9th, Classified Employees Recognition – honored alongside our teachers in May. We are grateful for our outstanding team at Walker and appreciate all they do!

Finally, we have another great volunteer and donation opportunity—Walker’s Cinco de Mayo Celebration on Friday, May 2nd! We need potluck items, help with food prep, and empty piñatas to fill. Students will showcase the dances they’ve been learning, and there will be plenty of delicious food. Join us for a vibrant and festive event!
