๐ŸŒŸ Purple Pinkie Day โ€“ Help End Polio! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’›
Our district is teaming up with our local Rotary Clubs and the Fortuna High School Interact Club to recognize Purple Pinkie Day! This event raises awareness and funds to help eradicate polio worldwide.

This event will take place on the following days (in the morning, before school starts):
Wednesday, 2/12 - Fortuna Middle School and Walker Elementaryย  ย ย (Toddy Thomas will sell purple donuts on this day to raise funds!)
Thursday, 2/13 - Ambrosini Elementary

For just $1.00, students can make a difference! Since $1.00 is the approximate cost to immunize one child from polio, every donation helps save lives. When a student donates, they will have their pinkie marked withย Gentian Violetโ€”a safe, temporary dye used globally to signify a child has been immunized against polio.

๐Ÿ’œ How to Participate:
๐Ÿ”น Bringย $1.00 (or any amount!) to donate.
๐Ÿ”น Drop it in theย Purple Pinkie Bucket when Rotary and Interact Club members visit your school.
๐Ÿ”น Get your pinkie paintedย purple as a symbol of one child immunized!

Since 1986, Rotary International has led efforts to eliminate polio worldwide. Thanks to global partnerships, Polio cases have been reduced by 99%, but the fight isnโ€™t over. Theย Purple Pinkie Project allows our school to be part of the solution!
The purple mark will fade in a couple of days, but the impact of your donation will last a lifetime. Letโ€™s work together to help end polio!
