Dear Walker Families:

We are already in the seventh week of school!  The students have settled in well. Thank you for getting your children to school on time and for moving through the drop-off and pick-up line so smoothly!

Picture Day is tomorrow.  You can order pictures online or send money and orders to school. Don’t forget to include tax.

Our social-emotional curriculum, Character Strong, has monthly themes. The theme for October is “Responsibility: taking action, and understanding the impact of our choices.” The students take part in weekly lessons that aim to give students a sense of belonging, improved well-being, and increased engagement.

If you will be sending treats to school for birthdays or parties, contact the teachers first. They will let you know what time of the day is best and if there are any food allergies in the classroom.  As far as daily classroom snacks go, please choose healthy options rather than chips, cookies, or candy. We also ask that you do not send sports drinks with your child either. Water bottles are just fine.

Thank you for the great attendance at Lunch in the Courtyard. The next one is on  Thursday, October 23rd.

The schedule is as follows:

TK/K: 10:40-11:00

1st Grade: 11:00-11:20
